Wanting
To be like you
Another lead balloon
Hangs in the air between us
Waiting
You carry on regardless
We chat
Laugh
Wondering
You make it look so easy
Seeing
Hearing
Feeling
Touching
Thinking
While
Transparent
Hearing colour
Touching sound
Feeling words
Seeing thought
Until you stop
Waiting
Finding
Pressed like a flower
In the pages of a book
Words that don’t fit the time
Found
Wanting
IMAGE A pressed flower lays on the open page of a dictionary showing words beginning with ‘A’.
‘Why do autistics need to be compared to the predominant neurotype all the time?’
I find this both familiar and beautiful. SO apt. Our poetry is even similar in structure, we are alike, we have a-likenesses between us. This is so comforting – after a life of ‘wanting to be like’ – I find I am like you. xxxx

WOW!! I Love the Art, and the words crafted so naturally, flowing like a direct pronunciation of consciousness. Beautiful!!
